Peak District Walks - Kinder Scout Loop

Peak District Walks - Kinder Scout Loop

General

The walk will start at 09.50 am from the Upper House Estate in Hayfield to allow everyone to get there.

The planned route is about 14km/8 miles, so we'll proceed as briskly as possible and take breaks as necessary.

Getting there

The starting point for the hike is the Upper House Estate in Hayfield - driving and/or carpooling seem like the best/only options.

Clothing/shoes

It is colder, so wear warm clothing and pack hand gloves - the weather can be finicky. You may also want to pack rain gear/coat/pants or a change of clothes. Hiking/walking shoes are compulsory, please - no sneakers or slippers. And definitely no bare feet.

Food/drinks

The walk should take about 3 hours so pack brunch or light snacks and drinks - completely up to you. Typically, there should be a break in the walks for food/rest.

Weather

Unpredictable. That is what it is. So come prepared - see previous points.

Fitness level

The distance is almost 14km with some elevations - so you should be okay with hikes/walking and some going uphill.

** Medium-high effort.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, there are no accessibility provisions for this event. We will do better when we can.

Tickets

The walk is free, of course. Tickets are to understand how many people are joining.

RSVP

RSVP ends 1 day before the event to allow us to plan walks effectively.

And please, please, please, we understand that life happens and plans change, but if you already RSVP'd and can't join 'due to unforeseen circumstances', let us know in advance.
